About This Position

The Staff Accountant II position is essential in aiding the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and plays a crucial role in the timely completion and evaluation of financial outcomes and accounting transactions. This role is integral to maintaining an efficient closing process while comprehending both internal and external requirements to guarantee precise reporting.

  • Facilitate and engage in the monthly closing process for the designated area of responsibility.
  • Support Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers in daily accounting functions and month-end closing activities.
  • Evaluate financial reports and records, offering recommendations or seeking solutions for accounting challenges prior to escalating issues to senior management.
  • Assess a moderate range of situations or data, reviewing various factors.
  • Implement company policies and procedures to address routine issues, exercising judgment within established accounting practices to determine suitable actions.
  • Prepare journal entries and account analyses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Examine, investigate, and propose enhancements to analysis, reporting, billing, and compliance systems.
  • Address financial inquiries from field management, providing necessary information for effective business management.
  • Adhere to the monthly reporting schedule.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, and Word).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
  • Capability to identify and address routine or standard issues that have established precedents and organizational implications.
  • Ability to anticipate additional requirements and utilize available resources effectively.
  • Skill in conveying structured information clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner tailored to the audience's characteristics and needs.
Compensation and Benefits

Employees have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare options (medical, dental, and vision), retirement plans (401(k) with company match and a company-funded pension plan), Paid Parental Leave (6 weeks after 6 months of employment), Basic Life Insurance (subject to eligibility), Education Assistance (after 3 months of employment), and paid time off (15 vacation days accrued per year for full-time employees, 6 days for part-time employees), along with 6 paid Sick/Care-Giver Days annually, seven paid national holidays, and one floating holiday, among other benefits.
