Job Purpose:

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the month-end consolidation of the company's financial statements, developing accounting policies, and ensuring consistent processes across various business units. This role will also support corporate-wide accounting initiatives, including software implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute month-end tasks, including:
    • Preparing and recording elimination entries
    • Analyzing and reviewing the consolidation of financial statements, providing insights on significant variances
    • Conducting consolidation checks
    • Preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Assist in maintaining the corporate general ledger by preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
  • Identify and implement improvements in internal controls and accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Support the documentation, implementation, and communication of accounting policies in compliance with GAAP
  • Provide training and guidance to accounting personnel to ensure compliance and reporting objectives are met
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliation processes and recommend enhancements
  • Contribute to corporate finance initiatives, including consistent reporting and system implementations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with percentage of completion accounting is preferred
  • Proficient in accounting systems and software implementations
  • Familiarity with G/L, business intelligence, and reporting tools is advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
