Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will be integral to the financial strategy, focusing on the health and sustainability of daily fiscal operations. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role encompasses the preparation of financial statements, thorough reviews of general ledger accounts, and acting as a resource for billing, accounting, and reporting functions. The Senior Accountant will also identify key performance indicators and explore avenues for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support subsidiary ledger systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide insightful analysis and advice on financial reports and accounting matters.
  • Recommend and support the establishment of internal control systems.
  • Review and allocate approved charges among entities for various services.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for billing, collections, and producer payments.
  • Evaluate accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Engage in financial budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Contribute to daily cash management efforts.
  • Seek guidance from management and financial advisors when necessary.
  • Oversee accounting and consolidated financial reporting for non-Coop entities.
  • Monitor changes in ownership of non-Coop entities.
  • Manage lease accounting for assigned entities.
  • Supervise treasury management for all assigned entities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax filings and financial audits.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience is necessary.
  • Experience with accounting system implementation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar business software is required.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are essential.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Frequent talking, seeing, and hearing are required; must handle objects and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must maintain concentration for extended periods, focusing on detail.
  • Regular operation of standard office machines, including computers, is necessary.
  • Work environment is primarily office-based with a moderate noise level.
