The Critical Care Nursing Aide plays a vital role in supporting patient care within the critical care environment. This position involves assisting in the safe transport of patients, managing dispatch services, and ensuring accurate documentation of care provided.

1. Patient Support: Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This includes observing, collecting, and reporting patient data to the assigned registered nurse.
2. Emergency Response: Act promptly during peak times and emergency situations as directed by nursing personnel.
3. Professional Growth: Stay updated with current certifications and knowledge. Serve as a mentor for new staff members and engage positively with colleagues to foster a supportive work environment.
4. Safety and Quality Assurance: Promote a culture of safety by adhering to protocols for patient identification, emergency preparedness, and infection control practices. Ensure compliance with safety measures and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
5. Technology Utilization: Proficiently use departmental software and understand operational procedures during downtimes.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards relevant to the role. Safeguard patient privacy and report any compliance concerns to management.
7. Patient-Centered Care: Respect and incorporate the values and preferences of patients and their families in care planning and execution.
8. Cultural Sensitivity: Recognize and address the diverse needs of patients, ensuring effective communication and care delivery.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology and computer skills is essential.
