About the Role

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team. As a key member of our technology organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines and integration processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Engineering: Build, automate, and optimize data pipelines and integration processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.
  • API Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs using JavaScript, Python, and SQL.
  • Data Governance: Establish data governance practices, data quality standards, and data lineage to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical direction and guidance for development projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as product management, customer support, and marketing, to ensure all technical requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, API development, and cloud technologies.
  • Skills: Experience in data and analytics technologies, RDBMS, ETL, ELT, and BI. Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, SQL, and Azure Data Services.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of API design and development principles, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance practices.
