Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee the finance and accounting department, ensuring effective management of billing and collections for all clients.
  • Act as a key liaison among the billing team, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Lead support teams focused on finance, project financial controls, and billing processes.

Accounting Duties:

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closings.
  • Maintain precise books and records using Quickbooks.
  • Supervise the entry of all financial data into the accounting system.

Financial Planning and Reporting:

  • Conduct financial planning, analysis, and reporting for management.
  • Provide insights through trend and variance analysis, along with graphical reporting.
  • Design and implement budgeting and forecasting tools.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Banking and Tax Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong relationships with banking institutions and provide necessary information.
  • Collaborate with tax accountants to ensure timely tax filings.

External Audit Support:

  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation.
  • Assist FAR rate auditors as necessary.

Policy Development:

  • Establish and uphold financial policies and procedures.
  • Propose enhancements to financial policies to align with corporate objectives.

Regulatory Communication:

  • Engage with regulatory agencies to fulfill reporting requirements.

Financial Systems Management:

  • Lead the selection and implementation of new ERP systems.
  • Ensure alignment of accounting data with financial reporting standards.

Program Management:

  • Maintain accurate program records and reporting for project managers.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership.
  • Analyze data from project systems to inform decision-making.
  • Manage and report on Risk/Reward KPI performance.

Client Relations:

  • Serve as the financial liaison between clients and project teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication regarding the financial health of programs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and program leads.

Financial Practices and Forecasting:

  • Enhance financial practices to support program objectives.
  • Participate in operational and long-term forecasting for projects.

Post-Implementation Reviews:

  • Conduct reviews of completed projects to assess success and recommend improvements.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Enhance AR/AP/billing processes to improve efficiency.

Change Order Management:

  • Oversee project-level changes and assess financial impacts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Proficient in Quickbooks and Paychex Flex.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets effectively.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of AR/AP/Billing processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial budgeting and practices.
  • Proven track record in facilitating cost reductions through process improvements.
  • Experience in managing and reporting on Risk/Reward KPI performance.
