The Aviation Maintenance Specialist (AMS) assigned to a designated operational region is tasked with executing field maintenance on company aircraft, adhering to the highest standards of proficiency and safety in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and organizational policies. The AMS will report directly to the designated Regional Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Conducts and documents field maintenance of aircraft structures, engines, propellers, and associated equipment in accordance with the guidelines established in the company’s General Maintenance Manual, Approved Aircraft Inspection Program, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and applicable FAA regulations.
Ensures that all aircraft maintenance documentation, including company forms, AAIP checklists, equipment manufacturer’s forms, parts identification, tracking, and traceability documents, are accurately completed and filed in accordance with the company’s General Maintenance Manual and relevant regulations.
Maintains tools owned by the company.
Collaborates with pilots regarding aircraft issues, providing technical support, assisting with the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) deferral process, and addressing other matters related to the safe operation of company aircraft.
Coordinates with the Regional Maintenance Manager and/or the Maintenance Control Department to ensure efficient and effective resolution of aircraft faults and defects, along with processing the necessary records and administrative tasks.
Performs scheduled maintenance tasks during depot work order events if stationed at a regional maintenance facility, provided no unscheduled maintenance is pending on any active aircraft.
Engages in extensive travel to field operational bases to support scheduled maintenance events and address unscheduled maintenance issues, ensuring aircraft are returned to service safely and efficiently.
Undertakes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
Must possess a valid and currently unexpired driver’s license.
5 years of experience in maintaining turboprop and/or turbine-powered fixed-wing aircraft (preferably King Air series).
Ability to interpret, apply, and effectively communicate complex technical data and processes related to aircraft maintenance.
Strong working knowledge of electrical and avionics systems, with the capability to troubleshoot and repair system faults and defects as they arise.
Willingness to travel to operational bases as needed to provide field maintenance support.
Willingness to participate in after-hours maintenance on-call support, which may include travel and working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Strong work ethic, customer service skills, and effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to the overall success of the Maintenance department and the organization.
Possession of basic aircraft mechanic tools and accountability for personally owned tools in accordance with company policies.
Proficiency in a dynamic computerized work environment, performing administrative tasks using Microsoft Office Suite, web-based maintenance management systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid and current FAA A&P License with Inspection Authorization.
10 years of experience in maintaining turboprop and turbine-powered aircraft.
Completion of factory training courses on King Air Series Aircraft.
Significant maintenance experience with Beechcraft King Air series turboprop aircraft.
Strong knowledge of 14 CFR regulations and associated guidance material applicable to maintenance and alterations of aircraft operated under a 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier certificate.
Experience with RAMCO systems.
