The Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) will be responsible for providing the necessary expertise to secure Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) decisions for innovative solutions based on the Google Cloud Platform for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role will spearhead efforts to secure an Interim Authority to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO) for two Google cloud systems. The ISSM will oversee and guide the TDI team, engage in project deliverables, and foster partnerships with our Google and Game Plan Tech collaborators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD systems.
  • Secure IATT and ATO approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to DoD security regulations and protocols.
  • Develop and sustain System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Conduct assessments of security controls and ongoing monitoring activities.
  • Provide expert guidance on security measures and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate RMF processes into the system development lifecycle.
  • Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools and services to bolster system security and compliance.
  • Design and implement security architectures and frameworks for cloud-based DoD systems.
  • Perform security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses within GCP environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with DoD RMF processes and their implementation.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining RMF documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST Special Publications (e.g., 800-53) and DoD security policies.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and security.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an ISSM or similar role, managing small teams and overseeing project management tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP security tools such as Cloud Security Command Center, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and VPC Service Controls.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, or equivalent.
  • Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Security Engineer).
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and multi-cloud security strategies.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with automated security testing tools and continuous monitoring solutions.
