The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for delivering comprehensive safety and security services to safeguard the welfare of individuals and property by monitoring designated areas.

This role will involve supporting the enforcement of regulations and policies within the organization.

Work Schedule:
Part-Time
Weekends
6AM - 6PM

Key Responsibilities:
- Escorting visitors, patients, and staff to their requested destinations.
- Conducting regular patrols of the facility and surrounding grounds.
- Responding promptly to emergency situations and alarms.
- Utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques in high-stress scenarios involving distressed individuals.
- Addressing confrontational situations with appropriate physical intervention when necessary.
- Upholding the organization's policies related to safety and security.
- Organizing and assessing fire drills.
- Managing access control through surveillance systems.
- Assisting with the lost and found program.
- Performing investigations and compiling security incident reports.
- Providing assistance to motorists as required.
- Identifying safety and security risks during patrols.
- Maintaining precise daily logs.
- Developing a protocol for staff security escorts when leaving the premises.

Maintaining awareness of specific high-risk areas based on crime statistics provided by local law enforcement.

Staying informed about high-risk patients who may pose a threat to staff.
Adhering to all organizational policies regarding on-call responsibilities.
Completing necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for services rendered.
Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in implementing security protocols, access control measures, and emergency management procedures.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, visitors, and authorities, both verbally and in writing.
- Familiarity with security systems, alarms, and technological tools for monitoring and access control.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and other technology platforms relevant to emergency management.
- Attention to detail with the ability to recognize suspicious activities or behaviors.
- Customer service skills to assist and inform visitors while maintaining professionalism.
- Understanding of laws, regulations, and standards related to security, privacy, use of force, and emergency management.

Qualifications:
- Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Associate's degree in criminal justice or a related field is required.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
- Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) certification is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in private security roles is required.
