Position Overview

We are currently looking for an entry-level Laboratory Technician to assist the Immunoassay team within our Safety Assessment division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine laboratory tasks, including cleaning, preparing general reagents, and managing lab supplies.
  • Handle procurement processes, such as submitting purchase orders and identifying new vendors.
  • Assist in sourcing alternative supplies or reagents when current items are unavailable.
  • Maintain an organized laboratory environment by ensuring supplies and reagents are received, inventoried, and stored correctly.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning labs and managing biohazard materials.
  • Support the use of laboratory equipment, including balances.
  • Execute basic facility functions and assist with administrative tasks across various departments.
  • Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies during all tasks.
  • Complete any other related duties as assigned.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $20-21 per hour, with variations based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) is required; an Associate's degree in a scientific field is preferred.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory environment is required; familiarity with GLP is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered as a satisfactory substitute.
  • Certification/Licensure: None required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and manage heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, including work materials and equipment.
  • Capability to perform tasks that involve talking, hearing, standing or sitting for extended periods, and using appropriate instruments.
  • Specific vision abilities may include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to communicate and work on a computer.

Work Environment:

  • Work may involve exposure to sharp objects, mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and biological hazards.
  • Potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles, with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.
