KIDZ MEDICAL SERVICE is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Infant Auditory Screening Specialist. This role is essential in ensuring that all newborns receive the necessary auditory evaluations before leaving the healthcare facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct auditory screenings for all newborns in the nursery and NICU prior to their discharge.
- Utilize AABR Certified equipment to perform hearing assessments.
- Address general inquiries and provide parents with written documentation regarding the screening process and outcomes.
- Secure and document parental consent prior to conducting auditory evaluations.
- Verify essential information including infant's name, mother's name, mother's date of birth, insurance details, demographic data, family history of hearing impairment, and Pediatrician's name (if applicable).
- Distribute copies of screening results to parents and ensure original documents are filed in the infant's medical records.
- Keep the Supervisor informed of any operational matters that require immediate attention.
- Foster relationships with hospital staff to maintain effective communication.
- Comply with all HIPAA, PHI, and OSHA regulations.
- Perform assigned clerical tasks as needed.
- Exhibit flexibility in scheduling, including availability for weekends and holidays as required.
- Adhere to Information Security Policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays.
- Consistent attendance and reliability.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to learn and operate auditory screening equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- BLS/CPR Certification: Provided by the company upon job offer acceptance.
