Job Overview

Avoiding the monotony of manual processes, Automationtechies is looking for an accomplished Control Engineer to join their team in Florence, KY.

As a trusted partner in the road construction industry, this family-owned business has set the benchmark and now seeks a skilled professional to enhance process control systems, support equipment installation, troubleshoot, and apply automation advancements.

The role reports directly to the Technical Director and requires close collaboration with teams and customers to define project requirements and solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to identify project needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Provide support during the installation, commissioning, and operational phases of projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex process control and automation issues to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in industrial automation and implement them to enhance equipment performance.
  • Develop and evolve PLC/PC-based process control systems and digital solutions to drive efficiency.
  • Serve as a resource for process controls, providing expertise to both customers and internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering; Master's degree or dual in computer science preferred, with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • 2-10 years of relevant experience in automation, process control, and related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of C++, Rockwell Automation, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., UL, NEC, NFPA, CSA, IEC) is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for project-related activities.
