Position Overview

The Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Conservation Technician IV. This role is pivotal in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of park facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement conservation and preservation strategies to manage and enhance the state's natural resources, including the cultivation and maintenance of trees, flowers, shrubs, and lawns.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs across various trades, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting, while assisting senior personnel on larger projects.
  • Operate and maintain a range of equipment and vehicles, ensuring their readiness for daily operations.
  • Engage with the public by providing information and responding to inquiries regarding park initiatives and programs.
  • Ensure public safety while utilizing state-owned grounds and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, equipment inventory, and service logs.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Conservation Technician IV position, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in operating and maintaining vehicles and landscaping equipment.
  • At least six months of experience in various groundskeeping and maintenance trades.
  • Six months of supervisory experience, including planning and evaluating the work of team members.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
