Job Summary

United Wholesale Mortgage is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our financial analysis team, you will be responsible for developing and evolving our current daily P&L framework and attribution, including forecasting of expected future margin. You will also maintain and improve key model assumptions, including loan valuation, prepayment assumptions, and behavioral models that drive loan valuation and hedging.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain our current daily P&L framework and attribution, including forecasting of expected future margin.
  • Maintain and improve key model assumptions, including loan valuation, prepayment assumptions, and behavioral models that drive loan valuation and hedging.
  • Create new structures and processes that align priced-in margin to modeled initial margin in QRM.
  • Own fair valuation inputs and concepts to align valuation with our priced-in margin.
  • Own servicing valuation embedded in fair value calculations along with enhancement to servicing segmentation and valuation.
  • Own modeling new products from implementation within QRM Framework to valuation and reporting.
  • Design and implement improvements to current reporting and/or database structure.
  • Provide insights for process efficiencies, functional realignments, and overall continuous improvement.
  • Build ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and models as needed with limited support.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or applicable area.
  • 2-5 years prior Capital Markets work experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and mathematical skills.
  • Experience working with QRM preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills along with a desire to dig-in, research, and solve problems independently, and lead data-driven analysis to support the business.
  • Must be able to effectively and succinctly communicate research findings and proposed solutions.
  • Advanced experience using Excel, with ability to utilize PIVOTs, vLookup, & other analytical functions.
  • Experience with Database Reporting, SQL, Hyperion, or other querying functions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and drive.
  • Knowledge of the financial and mortgage markets.
  • Must be coachable, able to take direction and feedback, and have a willingness to learn and collaborate with the team.
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration, and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in, and influence change at all levels.
