POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Counter Cashier plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to guests at our dining establishments. This position is vital for ensuring guest satisfaction and encouraging repeat visits. As a front-line representative, the Food Counter Cashier is responsible for making a positive first impression. Responsibilities include delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to all guests consistently. The role requires attention to detail while maintaining efficiency in daily tasks, including assisting guests with payment processing and other point-of-sale transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established procedures. Greet guests promptly and courteously while fulfilling their food and beverage orders.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent service delivery. Provide itemized totals and present payment options to guests.
- Operate the cash register accurately and process transactions efficiently. Handle cash and provide correct change to customers.
- Maintain accurate control of the cash drawer, adhering to variance policies to minimize discrepancies.
- Assist Service Attendants and Culinary staff as needed.
- Document all tips received from credit card transactions and complimentary services.
- Address and resolve any guest inquiries or concerns effectively.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of guest areas.
- Adhere to appearance standards and serve as a role model for fellow employees.
- Meet attendance expectations and comply with all regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required, with a minimum of one year of customer service experience.
- Previous cashier experience, preferably in the hospitality sector, is essential.
- Basic math skills are required for cash handling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain a professional appearance.
- Must be able to navigate all areas of the assigned restaurant throughout the shift.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Must be able to work in environments with secondary smoke exposure and manage fast-paced, high-stress situations.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is necessary.
