Medical Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mercy. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for visits by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including taking vital signs and reviewing patient history and allergies.
  • Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood, completing mental status exams, and administering vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed and collaborate with providers and clinical care teams to monitor and coordinate delivery of care plans.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) required.
