We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at NHPS. As an integral part of our educational support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success and well-being of our students with special needs.

Job Description

The Education Assistant will assist teachers in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes the emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child.

  • Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualized plans and curriculum activities.
  • Preparing and organizing classroom materials and supplies to support student learning.
  • Participating in school-wide events and activities that promote student growth and development.
  • Observing and documenting student strengths and needs to inform instruction and goal-setting.
  • Supporting diverse backgrounds, languages, and learning styles through effective communication and cultural sensitivity.
  • Assisting in planning, implementing, and documenting curriculum activities to meet the needs of all students.
  • Providing opportunities for students to develop self-concept and self-esteem through positive reinforcement and encouragement.
  • Attending meetings and collaborating with staff to involve parents in the educational process.
Requirements

To be successful as an Education Assistant, you will need:

  • An Associate Degree or 60 college credits, or a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, or hold children weighing 10-60 pounds, and to participate in activities that may require lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, and sitting on the floor.
  • Mental and physical alertness throughout the day to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
