Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic/Inspector to join our team at ITT in Stafford, TX. As a key member of our PRO Services shop, you will be responsible for providing expert mechanical inspection and repair services for rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide work scope and material based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Report defects in materials, rework, missed inspections, job delays, and problem areas to internal/external customers.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all relevant inspection sheets and drawings.
  • Review and inspect running clearances of equipment before final assembly.
  • Conduct final inspection of machined parts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform final inspection of assembled equipment, record data, and coordinate final documentation before shipment to customers.
  • Safely perform air and hydro-testing of equipment.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups.
  • Ability to troubleshoot in-depth issues with rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret pump drawings.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Well-developed planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to produce clear, timely, and concise documentation and have well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.
  • Proficient in relevant PC skills.
  • 10+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing rotating equipment.
Competencies
  • Extensive experience with rotating equipment, pump mechanics, and hydraulics.
  • Experience repairing rotating equipment and repairing techniques.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment - as required by PPE Assessment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy as most of the activity occurs in a machine repair shop environment.
