Job Description

The Director of Software Engineering is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of software and firmware development within Goddard Inc. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in software engineering, a strong understanding of software development methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to align software development efforts with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the V.P. of Operations and other Directors to establish both short and long-term objectives, as well as strategies for project teams and direct reports.
  • Lead diverse projects spanning the medical device, consumer product, and industrial automation robotic sectors, serving as consultants to clients.
  • Engage in strategic leadership, team management, project management, technical leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of embedded software development experience.
  • 5+ years of medical device experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to align software development efforts with business objectives.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with automation systems using PLC and related software.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as MQTT.
  • Experience in coding out-sourcing for prototype and production.
  • Qt familiarity.
  • 3+ years of Robotics Experience.
