Job Summary:
Vertex Aerospace is seeking an experienced Facility Security Officer to oversee our security program functions, including Physical Security, Personnel Security, Communications Security, Operations Security, and administration of the Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, supervise, and direct security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of the 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117, NISPOM, and related federal requirements for classified and unclassified contracts, materials, documents, and equipment.
- Develop effective measures to implement the Security and Emergency services policies and procedures that are in place to protect Vertex Aerospace personnel, information, and property.
- Process and maintain employee personnel security clearances and all associated record-keeping requirements.
- Establish procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor access to restricted records and materials.
- Study and implement federal security regulations that apply to contracts held.
- Maintain all facility clearance records.
- Receive, prepare, and submit reports, to include those required by the 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM.
- Develop and maintain an ongoing program of employee security education and training, to include insider threat training.
- Conduct the initial security briefing, the annual refresher briefing, and additional briefings as required.
- Provide guidance and instructions to employees to ensure any event, circumstance, or act that could be considered a breach of security is reported immediately.
- Maintain records on subcontractors and request DD254's as required.
- Receive and interpret company DD254's.
- Provide assistance to, and security education for, employees and contractors.
- Submit Facility Security Clearance sponsorship for subcontractors as required.
- Prepare for annual vulnerability assessment by the federal government, to include self-inspection.
- Prepare and submit Visit Authorization Requests as required per individual classified contract and request same from applicable subcontractors.
- Provide oversight for and meet regularly with the Information Systems Security Manager to ensure the integrity of multiple classified information systems to maintain accreditation.
- Monitor adherence to classified contractual requirements pertaining to the release of information, and coordinate requests for approval prior to the publishing of any information.
- Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying action to be taken.
- Serve as primary contact for DCSA reviews and correspondence.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of directly related management experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) Industrial Security setting.
- Professional, customer-centered attitude; executive demeanor.
- Strong computer skills - MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with security database operations.
- Thorough knowledge of multiple DoD and services security references, regulations, and instructions pertaining to personnel security, especially the NISPOM and DOD Vol 2., also JAFAN experience is valued.
- The ability to reference, understand, and implement the required DoD and other organizational security regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills, thorough, detail-oriented and follow-through behaviors essential; strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive contributor and creative thinker who is willing to contribute ideas and operates well in a rapid-response environment.
- Ability to exercise good judgment.

Clearance Requirement: Possession of a current Final Top Secret personnel Security Clearance.
