Job Title: Utility Inspector

WSB LLC is seeking a skilled Utility Inspector to join our Pipeline Group. As a Utility Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation of underground utilities.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong background in utility construction or a related field. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing strict adherence to required terms and conditions, verifying compliance with federal, local, and company regulations, and documenting all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities
  • Verify and document compliance with federal, local, and company regulations.
  • Conduct field observations and inspections to ensure adherence to approved plans, specifications, and restoration methods.
  • Track quantities and material, verify the accuracy of mapping and as-built documentation, and inspect installation of natural gas pipeline activities.
  • Ensure permit compliance for telecom installation via open trench and HDD.
  • Work with contractors as a representative of the city (third-party inspection).
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Pre-employment drug test and quarterly random drug testing required.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift 50-75 lbs periodically.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates with knowledge of CFR49/192/195 and/or Certified Welding Inspectors (AWS CWI / or CPWI+V) certification.
  • Two-year technical degree from an accredited school in a field related to civil engineering construction or a degree from a four-year accredited college.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, installation methods, and utility mapping (as-builts).
