The Director, Community Dialogue Project is a key leadership position responsible for advancing the university's institutional priorities for student learning, inclusive community, and open inquiry. This role requires a strategic leader who can develop and lead a campus-wide vision for community dialogue and conflict resolution, empowering sites of interactional diversity and promoting productive discussions and relationship building around challenging topics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a campus-wide vision for community dialogue and conflict resolution, leveraging dialogue frameworks and skills development to achieve greater engagement, connection, and collaboration across differences.
  • Provide training, education, and skill development to students, faculty, staff, and senior administrators on topics of effective communication, conflict resolution, and dialogue facilitation.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise cohorts of graduate and undergraduate students, staff, and faculty engaged in CDP activities.
  • Lead and develop work grounded in principles and practices of social justice, equity, and compliance to equip and enable participants to navigate and engage constructively in conflicts and difficult conversations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field and 6-10 years of relevant experience in higher education, student affairs administration, conflict resolution, and mediation.
  • Certification in critically conscious mediation or facilitation is required.
  • Experience developing programs and initiatives responsive to the needs of a diverse university population, including students from historically underrepresented groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to diverse groups of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
