Job Summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support our premier programs in the Satellite Ground Systems business unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of satellite ground systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of satellite ground systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement system requirements
  • Develop and maintain system designs, architectures, and interfaces
  • Conduct system analysis and trade studies to ensure optimal system performance
  • Lead and participate in technical reviews and interchanges to ensure system compliance with requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date
  • Experience with Systems Engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
  • Development experience on a government program
  • Experience with Agile and DevSecOps development methods
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Planning
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
