Job Summary

The Psychiatric Technician II is a key member of our team, responsible for facilitating individual and group programs through planned, spontaneous, structured, and unstructured activities that align with overall active treatment programming and individual patient comprehensive treatment plans. This role provides leadership, teaching, and role modeling to other Direct Service Associate II who function under the working title of Psychiatric Technician I and performs direct nursing care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate individual and group programs to support patient treatment plans
  • Provide leadership, teaching, and role modeling to other team members
  • Perform direct nursing care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor and report patient progress and any changes in behavior or medical status
Requirements
  • A valid Driver's License
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Good comprehension of English, spoken and written
  • Ability to learn and acquire skills of basic care and treatment plans
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with aggressive behaviors or mental health issues
  • Related education or experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, or in the medical field
  • Knowledge of program activities including recreation, leisure skills, communication, vocational, and educational programming
