Position Overview
As a key member of the finance division at Macmillan Learning, you will report directly to the VP of Finance and serve as the primary financial liaison for the Marketing, Product, and Institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass a variety of essential functions, including:

  • Acting as the main financial contact and strategic partner for the Institutional iclicker organization, overseeing sales forecasting, analytics, reporting, and P&L support.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Product teams to deliver critical financial insights, analyze trends, and pinpoint key risks and opportunities.
  • Working closely with business partners to develop the annual operating plan, conduct periodic forecasts, and maintain monthly performance metrics.
  • Performing in-depth financial analysis, preparing monthly financial review documents, and executing ad-hoc analyses as required.
  • Investigating and clarifying variances in budget and forecasts, ensuring accurate accounting practices on a monthly basis.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in financial and operational analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP ERP systems and Hyperion or Cognos.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A detail-oriented mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a strong desire to learn.

Work Environment
This position is hybrid, with a preference for candidates located in Austin, TX. The role may require occasional travel and the ability to work beyond standard hours.
