**Position Overview**
The Timken Company is seeking a dedicated **Winder** to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for the rewinding of diverse electro-mechanical devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will report directly to the Service Center Operations Manager.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Accurately document all pertinent information related to the unit's electromagnetic properties, operational conditions, existing damage, and serviceability.
- Execute the rewinding of various electro-mechanical devices, including but not limited to: single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers.
- Adhere to proper insulation techniques and requirements throughout the rewinding process.
- Complete all necessary paperwork for each task with precision and timeliness.
- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various hand-held tools.
- Follow all safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
**Technical and Functional Skills**
- Proven experience in creating and installing random/must wound coils, form wound coils, brake coils, and low/medium/high voltage A/C stators and rotors.
- Ability to complete testing and inspection documentation and shop traveler for safety-related and enhanced quality tasks.
- Proficiency in properly dipping electrical windings.
- Experience in the removal of electrical windings through burnout techniques.
- Knowledge of flood dip treatment for electrical windings.
**Physical Requirements**
Candidates must be capable of walking, standing, climbing, lifting, and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The role requires visual acuity, auditory skills, and the ability to handle and reach with hands and arms. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Candidates should possess the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Problem-solving skills are necessary to address issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, are required. A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience are mandatory.
