Job Overview

Objective

The Senior Java Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of a sophisticated real-time system designed to monitor air traffic controller shifts, work activities, airspace management, leave schedules, training sessions, and breaks. This position involves creating dashboards that present real-time staff assignments and align work activities with payroll and financial planning. The engineer will implement a comprehensive set of business rules on a national scale while allowing for tailored customization at individual locations. Additionally, the role includes the development of various enterprise components as reusable web service resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extensive experience in Java (Object-Oriented Programming)

  • Proficient in Java Programming, specifically with Spring Framework and J2EE
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Spring-Hibernate (ORM/JPA/JDO)
  • Knowledge of messaging systems (ActiveMQ, JBoss, IBM)
  • Experience in User Interface (UI) development (AngularJS, Bootstrap, HTML5, and understanding of WebRTC)
  • Proficient in Source Control systems (Git, SVN, CVS)
  • Experience with Build Tools (Maven, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of Rules Engines (Drools)
  • Understanding of Design Patterns (Java Design Patterns and knowledge of CQRS/Event Sourcing)
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (STOMP, WebSocket)
  • Experience with Application Servers (Tomcat, knowledge of WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic)
  • Prior experience in the Federal Government sector is advantageous
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is required.
