Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Platinum Dermatology Partners. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist with preparation for exams, and ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments as needed, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certification preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and coworkers alike.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment

This position is in a well-lighted medical office environment, with occasional evening and weekend work. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Physical Requirements: Must possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators, as well as the ability to stoop, bend, and move around the office.
