Job Summary

Bridgewell is a leading provider of social and human services that empower individuals with disabilities and other life challenges to live safe, self-directed, and productive lives. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional 2 to join our team in providing support and assistance in Level 2 residential programs.

The successful candidate will provide daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living to individuals who require moderate physical assistance or accommodation. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities and a passion for delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and assist individuals with skills training in all activities of daily living.
  2. Create opportunities and provide support to individuals to make decisions to develop their skills and foster independence.
  3. Provide services to individuals according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  4. Provide support and assist individuals with all medical, clinical, and financial needs.
  5. Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.
  6. Maintain required documentation according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  7. Assist individuals with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.
  8. Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.
  9. Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.
  10. Maintain other additional required training and certifications as required by the program.
  11. Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associates or DSP Certification preferred.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities is preferred.
  3. Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
