Line Cook Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team at Ashland Hills F&B. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of all station items, adhering to our kitchen's high standards.
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using diverse cooking methods.
  • Comply with standard portion sizes, quality standards, and kitchen policies to maintain consistency and excellence.
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels to ensure smooth service and minimize waste.
  • Assist with food preparation during off-peak periods as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality food output, meeting the expectations of our guests and team members.
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish guidelines to enhance the visual appeal of our dishes.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and properly handle, store, and rotate products to prevent contamination and foodborne illness.
  • Keep reach-in and walk-in coolers clean and organized, adhering to our kitchen's high standards.
  • Conduct yourself professionally and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:
  • One year of culinary experience preferred, with a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Relevant government licenses or certificates, such as food safety certifications.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, materials, and equipment, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work flexibly and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and provide clear feedback.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in fast-paced environments.
  • Professional appearance, adhering to our kitchen's dress code and grooming standards.
