Position Overview
As an integral member of the anesthesia team, you will ensure the effective setup and maintenance of essential supplies and equipment necessary for anesthesia services.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass a variety of tasks including the upkeep, cleaning, and preparation of anesthesia supplies and equipment, all performed under the guidance of anesthesia professionals.
- Oversee the maintenance, cleaning, and stocking of anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring daily organization of anesthesia carts and related items.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of anesthesia tools post-use, replacing any utilized supplies and preparing the operating room for subsequent procedures.
- Set up and verify functionality of blood warmers, performing routine checks on machines and circuits as necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels of anesthesia supplies, promptly notifying relevant personnel regarding low stock situations.
- Regularly inspect expiration dates on supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Manage the monitoring and replacement of oxygen tanks and other essential gases.
- Assist in the transport of supplies and equipment as required.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of I-Stat cartridges.
Communication and Compliance
Engage effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and visitors, upholding the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction.
Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and departmental information, adhering to established policies and compliance regulations.
Professional Development
Participate in ongoing training and education specific to departmental requirements, contributing to performance improvement initiatives and addressing any opportunities for enhancement in the work environment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one year of experience in an anesthesia department or related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position involves various physical demands including constant standing and walking, occasional lifting and carrying, and frequent repetitive motions.
