About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As an Outpatient Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition education and care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop personalized nutrition care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare personnel to identify health, environmental, and cultural factors that impact patient nutrition.
  • Create and implement individualized dietary recommendations for patients with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, cardiac disease, and hypertension.
  • Educate patients and their families on healthy eating habits, nutrition principles, and disease management.
  • Conduct training programs for staff, healthcare personnel, and the general public on nutrition and dietetics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition education and training programs.
  • Implement performance improvement strategies to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nutrition counseling and education.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care clinical settings.
  • Working knowledge of electronic health records systems, such as HealthTouch and EPIC.
  • Experience with public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
