Job Summary:The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning properly and efficiently. This is a full-time non-exempt position that requires a strong background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, painting, and general mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily walk-thru and inspections of assigned buildings, mechanical rooms, restrooms, and note needed repairs.
- Monitor and take readings on boilers, cooling units, and other equipment, maintaining computer-controlled HVAC systems.
- Maintain plumbing and electrical functions in assigned locations, including panic buttons.
- Assist in remodeling projects, furniture moves/transfers, and unload deliveries at the dock.
- Empties recycle bins and delivers trash to the landfill, moving/carrying up to 50lbs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
- Verifiable driver's license and safe driving record.
- Must speak, write, and understand English to follow instructions and complete reports.
- Comply with all county and department policies, including attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.
- Basic math skills, knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, painting, and general mechanics.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, manuals, blueprints, wiring, and plumbing diagrams.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, such as pallet jacks, pressure washers, drill presses, grinders, forklifts, and delivery trucks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the general public in a courteous manner, being sensitive to gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.
- Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and in a team environment.
This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours, as well as on-call for emergency situations.
