Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner to maintain an organized facility.
  2. Sort and categorize incoming donations, including textiles and books, to ensure high-quality items are processed.
  3. Maintain a thorough understanding of product locations to assist in keeping the warehouse orderly.
  4. Utilize forklifts proficiently for loading and unloading operations.
  5. Communicate daily with the Warehouse Manager regarding departmental updates and needs.
  6. Participate in cross-training to ensure versatility in fulfilling various warehouse roles.
  7. Complete all necessary administrative tasks, including end-of-day counts and documentation related to shipments and donations.
  8. Inspire and guide team members by embodying our mission and core values of trustworthiness, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
  1. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a solid command of the English language.
  2. Commitment to the mission and values of Knox Area Rescue Ministries.
  3. Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  4. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Understanding of proper techniques for handling and storing various materials safely.
  6. Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing stress and time constraints.
  7. Demonstrated ergonomic practices in physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing.
Physical Requirements

This position involves a high level of physical activity, including:

  • Standing for up to 100% of the workday.
  • Walking for up to 75% of the workday.
  • Using hands for various tasks throughout the day.
  • Lifting and bending for a significant portion of the workday.

Compensation: $16 per hour
