Newscast Director

Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking a highly skilled Newscast Director to lead our production team in delivering high-quality live newscasts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring seamless execution, and maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities- Production Oversight: Lead the production team in planning, coordinating, and executing live newscasts, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor production staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their responsibilities and contribute to the team's success.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between the news and engineering departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to ensure smooth production operations.
- Studio and Control Room Maintenance: Ensure the production studio and control room are well-maintained, equipped, and ready for production.
- Pre-Show Planning: Participate in pre-show planning for special segments, providing guidance and working with the crew on sets, lighting, and shot blocking.
- Direction and Coordination: Direct or act as crew for newscasts, special studio, and remote productions, ensuring clear communication and direction with management, producers, engineering staff, and talent.
- Training and Development: Participate in training less experienced production staff as needed, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
- Education: Degree in a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of INews, Xpression, and Ross switchers a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and a good visual sense are essential. Ability to work well under pressure, thrive on deadlines, and work a flexible schedule.
- Leadership: Proven ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure.
