Job Title: Senior Chemical Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join our team at QuEST Global. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plants and be responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, production, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Think strategically and execute thoughtfully to drive process improvements
  • Collaborate across teams, levels, and situations to achieve business objectives
  • Provide technical and operational expertise to address complex processes
  • Mentor less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Provide off-hours support for abnormal and non-routine operations
  • Aid in the development of long-term vision and strategy for product line improvements
  • Organize and design plant testing and product trials
  • Serve as a senior resource to set clear objectives and ensure priorities are aligned for the technical team
  • Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority
  • Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel
  • Interface with 3rd party vendors to drive cost optimizations and develop solutions
  • Serve as a process safety resource and lead Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOPs) and Risk Assessments
  • Lead/support incident investigations as a technical lead
  • Provide support for developing and implementing various capital projects
  • Assist in the field during plant startups, shutdowns, or upsets
Requirements:
  • B.S. Chemical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in Chemical Engineering plant with technical fuels/chemicals manufacturing roles
  • Process design experience
  • Working knowledge of RBI practices (corrosion damage mechanisms/mitigations, saltation, etc)
  • Risk assessment and HAZOP experience
  • Understanding of safety relief limits (modelling and evaluations)
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with advanced control strategies/optimization software
  • Demonstrated understanding of modelling software (PROII, ASPEN, etc)
  • Kinetic Modelling (SOL, KBC Profimatics, etc)
Work Environment:

Mostly office environments, occasional shop floor involvement. Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work. Heavily regulated industries with strict adherence to procedures. Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

Typical 8 hour days plus lunch/40 hour weeks/core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM. Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
