Job Summary

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced travel nurse to join our team in a dynamic and challenging ICU environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including cardiac, medical, and surgical cases
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of South Dakota
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, with a strong preference for travel experience
  • Experience with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, and strong critical thinking and assessment skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and adapt to changing priorities
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC
  • Impella, IABP, and CRRT experience strongly preferred
Unit Details
  • 39-bed MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU mixed unit
  • Patient ratios: RN: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 (rare) acuity dependent
  • ICU RN qualified to float to ED
  • Travelers must live 100 miles away
Support on the Unit
  • CNA: 1-2 Nurse Aides per unit + mobility float aide
  • Charge nurse: 2 CRNs oversee all ICUs
  • Phlebotomy: peripheral blood draws only
  • IV/VAT Team: ICU CRNs place all midlines
  • Resource Nurse: staffing dependent
  • RT: 24/7
  • Physicians: 3 Intensivists on days, 2 on nights + APP on nights
