Overview:
This position is integral to the decision-making and analysis processes related to credit information that supports lending operations within the bank's Commercial Real Estate division. The role is focused on fostering a client-centric environment that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations. The individual in this position will be responsible for making informed credit decisions and recommendations in line with established credit-granting principles and compliance with bank policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough underwriting, analysis, and preparation of credit memoranda. Formulate credit information to guide lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
- Evaluate and analyze risks associated with new or existing business ventures.
- Manage and service a portfolio of established loan relationships.
- Ensure comprehensive financial statement analysis, addressing industry risks, monitoring collateral requirements, and assisting with loan presentations.
- Oversee reporting on loans, including past dues and financial performance updates, providing accurate financial analysis and risk assessments.
- Prepare summaries and present findings regarding creditworthiness.
- Stay informed about financial and market trends impacting the portfolio and analyze their implications.
- Develop and nurture relationships that lead to high customer satisfaction.
- Initiate cross-selling strategies to enhance client engagement.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of bank products and processes to ensure a high-quality client experience.
- Coordinate with closing departments, clients, and legal representatives as necessary.
- Act as a daily escalation resource to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to assigned business units.
- Influence and negotiate to meet business objectives.
- Recommend and implement solutions based on thorough analysis of issues.
- Conduct independent assessments to resolve strategic challenges.
- Help prioritize business objectives and strategize execution plans.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for stakeholders.
- Participate in developing financial models and analytical tools for client capital structure evaluation.
- Create and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Keep abreast of financing trends in target markets and communicate insights to team members.
- Oversee the preparation of concise and well-reasoned credit correspondence.
- Coordinate the development of lending proposals aimed at maximizing client engagement and returns.
- Negotiate transactions and provide expertise in deal structuring.
- Monitor documentation and ongoing asset and client performance.
- May oversee the workflow of other analysts to align tasks with departmental goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate client information.
- Assist in negotiating terms and conditions through client interactions.
- Minimize risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of operational programs.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Focus primarily on business units within the bank, with potential enterprise-wide considerations.
- Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.
- Exercise judgment to identify and resolve issues within established guidelines.

- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Portfolio Management.
- Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management.
- Experience in analyzing credit information and making informed credit decisions.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. For commission roles, the salary listed represents the expected target for the first year in this position.
