Job Summary:

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of our fixed route bus fleet. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, managing a budget for maintenance programs, and leading a team of technicians and service workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct a team of 10+ employees, including fleet technicians, service workers, and cleaners
  • Oversee the maintenance of 50+ buses, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and meet regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, prioritize projects, and manage work assignments
  • Manage parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and on hand
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including written and oral reports
  • Manage the financial and accounting aspects of fleet maintenance operations, including budgeting and cost control
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop maintenance plans that meet their requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience managing maintenance functions in a transit bus maintenance shop
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, inventory, and personnel
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement
