Job Title: Fire Test

At Defenders, we're committed to providing top-notch fire safety services to our customers. As a Fire Test, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our fire alarm systems and protecting the people and properties we serve.

Job Summary:

The Fire Test is responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems and other fire safety product lines. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure they're functioning properly and meet industry standards.
  • Perform testing and maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of fire alarm systems.
  • Provide training and guidance to less senior inspectors and trainees.
  • Interface with customers to explain work to be performed and address any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Prepare accurate and timely documentation for work performed.
  • Collaborate with service management to ensure all work is scheduled and handled efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of High School/Vocational training.
  • Three or more years of experience in fire safety industry-related equipment, including at least two years as an inspector.
  • Proficiency in ADT Commercial's applications for personal computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Full understanding of NFPA 72 - NEC - IBC and NFPA 101.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to clear a drug screening.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems.
  • NICET Level II in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems within one year.
  • Any licenses required by state and/or local codes.
Work Environment:

This role requires working in various environments, including outside weather conditions, and may involve exposure to electrical shock and harsh work environments.

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, twist, use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances.
  • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with 'on call availability' and travel on short notice.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
Pay and Benefits:
