Job Summary

Segers Aero Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Test Cell Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our engine test cell operations, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and testing on T56/501 customer engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and remove engines from the test stand
  • Operate the engine test cell to complete final testing of engines
  • Troubleshoot issues using technical manuals and documentation
  • Assist the Test Stand Supervisor in testing procedures
  • Train to operate the test cell independently
  • Maintain test stand equipment and tooling in a serviceable condition
  • Ensure periodic checks and calibrations are made on special tools and test equipment
  • Properly handle all engines and parts while in the Test Facility
  • Maintain the premises of the Test Facility in a clean and orderly manner
  • Complete paperwork and documentation for operations
  • Use forklifts to move engines and modules
  • Perform FOD inspections daily
  • Work to production schedules as directed by the Production Coordinator
  • Travel as required
  • Confer with management to recommend changes to increase efficiency and promote improvement
  • Attend safety and health training as required
  • Work when scheduled and comply with company attendance policy
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Observe and practice all safety procedures and personal policies
Requirements
  • High School or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience, including troubleshooting aircraft, automotive, and/or industrial engines and equipment
  • Previous experience operating an engine test cell is preferred
  • A/P license and 54H60 prop experience preferred but not required
  • Jaeger and Ishihara eye exams required upon hire
  • Pass a DOT FAA pre-employment drug screen and possibly a physical
  • Comply with all applicable regulations
Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud. Some outside work in hot, cold and/or inclement weather.
