Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician II will perform specialized functions to assist pharmacists in providing high-quality pharmacotherapy services. This includes, but is not limited to, sterile compounding, controlled substance oversight, pediatrics medication history, patient assistance, inventory control, medstation maintenance, unit inspection, packaging, and bedside discharge service.

The successful candidate will utilize equipment, non-sterile and/or compounding supplies, and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, preparation, verification, and delivery of medication.

Responsibilities will also include performing quality control procedures, contributing to the maintenance of pharmacy equipment and supplies, and assuming responsibility for at least one pharmacy-related project outside of normal job duties.

The Pharmacy Technician II will also train new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serve as a resource for less experienced staff.


Requirements:
  • 3 Years Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Inpatient/Acute) And/Or 3 Years Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Outpatient) Required - Or Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Inpatient/Acute) And/Or Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Outpatient) And Pharmacy - Specialty Area Required - Or Pharmacy - Enrolled in accredited school of Pharmacy Required - And Clinical - Pharmacy Technician In Pharmacy - Specialty Area Required
  • Eligible for Registration with NC Board of Pharmacy Required - Within 30 Days of Hire And Certified Pharmacy Technician Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement Required

Work Schedule:

Monday through Sunday (0700 to 1530 and 1330 to 2200)


Weekend Requirements:

Every Other


Call Requirements:

As needed weekend on-call
