Temporary Resident Services Director

Job Description
Avila Senior Living at Downtown SLO is seeking a Temporary Resident Services Director to facilitate the successful operation of the Residential Care Department.
The Resident Services Director will supervise resident care staff, provide training, and coordinate Resident Care Programs to comply with state regulations and Pacifica Policy and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train resident care staff, set and adjust rates of pay and hours of work, and provide formal and informal performance feedback.
- Interview residents and families prior to admission, coordinate pre-admission screening and assessment, and evaluate resident care needs.
- Update medical charts and care plans, observe residents' health status, and take actions to address concerns within scope of practice.
- Record and notify the Executive Director, physician, pharmacist, and family of any significant changes to resident's health status and/or reactions to drugs, treatments, or significant incidents.
- Order medications from pharmacy, maintain records, and ensure that medications are properly stored and cared for.
- Implement orientation and education programs that explain the philosophy of service in accordance with Pacifica Policies and Procedures.
- Schedule Personal Care Assistants, develop daily tasks, and make assignments.
- Verify employee hours on time cards and payroll reports and arrange replacement staffing when necessary.
- Monitor associates in administration of medication, including frequent audits of medication records.
Requirements:
- A valid LPN in good standing.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience, prior care experience in an assisted living community or skilled nursing facility, and valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently.
