Job Summary:

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, Cath Lab, you will assist credentialed providers with diagnostic interventional and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac and vascular laboratory environments. Your role will involve working under direct supervision to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with cardiology and radiology studies as a scrub assistant or monitor/recorder
  • Prepare and position patients for invasive procedures
  • Assist with cardiovascular tests and record patients' hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic test equipment
  • Manage patient arterial and venous access sites post-procedure
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra Aortic Balloon Pump when required
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms and alert credentialed providers and other team members during procedures
  • Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct supervision
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields using aseptic technique
  • Perform basic and advanced life support when required, including defibrillation
  • Maintain proficiencies to perform point of care tests on lab equipment
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist training program or two years of education in an allied health science
  • Comparable work experience with at least two years of recent on-the-job training in an interventional cath lab environment
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Certificate within 12 months of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications
Additional Requirements:
  • Able to comply with 30-minute call-back to the facility when on call for emergencies
  • Ability to recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Analytical abilities necessary to monitor and assess patient condition and perform hemodynamic calculations
