Job Summary:

As a Cardiovascular Technologist in our Cath Lab, you will assist credentialed providers with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring a high level of patient care and teamwork. You will work under direct supervision, promoting a collaborative environment that reflects our mission and values.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a scrub assistant or monitor/recorder for cardiology and radiology studies, ensuring accurate and efficient procedures.
  2. Prepare and position patients for invasive procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
  3. Assist with cardiovascular tests, recording patients' hemodynamic activity using specialized equipment and devices.
  4. Manage patient arterial and venous access sites post-procedure, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  5. Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra Aortic Balloon Pump equipment as required.
  6. Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms, alerting credentialed providers and team members during procedures.
  7. Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct supervision.
  8. Prepare and maintain sterile fields using aseptic technique for testing.
  9. Operate hemodynamic and monitoring equipment, ensuring accurate readings and patient safety.
  10. Perform basic and advanced life support when required, including point-of-care tests on lab equipment.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Successful completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist training program or equivalent experience.
  • Registration as a Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Vascular Interventional Radiography, or Cardiac Interventional Radiography within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of recent interventional cath lab experience and registration as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) are highly desirable.

Work Environment:

This role is based at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, Oregon, with a scheduled 40-hour workweek and on-call requirements.
