About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at RoadSafe Traffic Systems. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in developing quotes for projects put out to bid by state and local agencies and submitting them to contractors for consideration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strong customer relationships and negotiate post-bid awards.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships with contractors, agencies, and clients.
  • Work with the Business Management team to develop bidding strategies and determine the best approach to building estimates.
  • Review letting schedules and provide feedback to the Business Management team regarding unique or large potential opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of state specifications for Traffic Control & Protection, devices, materials, and methods.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure compliance with state and local tax laws, pre-quals, and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Road/Highway construction estimating, preferably in Traffic Safety or Pavement Marking.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Financial Management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial aspects of job costing and bid-to-actual results, including variance analysis.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the scope of work, cost basis, and margin in the bid review process.
  • Industry involvement through trade associations, coalitions with state DOT, or similar.

  • Competitive salary range of $75,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Yearly bonuses of up to 5% of salary.
