The Role

We are seeking a Senior FX Trader to join our team. This individual will report directly to a managing partner in Chicago and be responsible for leading the expansion of our FX trading efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the FX market, including forecasting, trading, portfolio construction, optimization, and risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the expansion of Old Mission's FX trading efforts
  • Work closely with internal engineering and research teams to develop proprietary trading strategies, theoretical pricing models, and risk management techniques
  • Partner with our operations team in developing and managing critical clearing, vendor, ATS, and client relationships
  • Design, implement, and monitor trading strategies
  • Train and mentor a team of junior traders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics, Finance, or Economics or in a related field
  • Qualified candidates will have a deep understanding across the FX market from forecasting and trading, portfolio construction, optimization, and risk management
  • Ideal candidates will have some exposure to one of the following technologies: Python, SQL, and Excel/VBA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while being instrumental in building a new business
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to make processes more efficient

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $250,000. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered to employees.
