Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Emerge. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing precision rubber molds and tooling for various molding processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design precision rubber molds and applicable tooling for elastomer parts and seals, utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface with customers regarding part and mold designs, support QSR sales, and collaborate with Project Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Manager of Engineering to review and define customer drawings.
  • Project Management: Facilitate timely engineering of molds and accessory tooling, provide quotations on estimated tooling costs, mold designs, and layouts, and create purchase orders for molds and other tooling designs.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain extensive knowledge of and act in accordance with quality systems, including TS16949, and actively participate in APQP teams, Continual Improvement teams, and promote quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Work with Process Technicians to maintain, review, and revise processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness, and review work order and procedural manuals to determine design dimensions.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Participate in new product development with engineering and manufacturing personnel, work closely with tooling and outside mold shops to ensure optimal mold design and build to achieve zero rework, and follow up on all projects to ensure continual improvement and progression of plans to defined schedules.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or working towards a B.S.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience with rubber or silicone, experience in tool design and processing of HCR (High Consistency Rubber) and LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) materials, expertise in wasteless/flashless tool design and processing, proficiency in SolidWorks, experience with AutoCAD, and knowledge of GD&T.
