Industrial Maintenance Team Leader

The Industrial Maintenance Team Leader is accountable for overseeing all hourly technicians at the Arkema facility. As a primary supervisor, this role involves collaboration with various levels and departments within the organization. The Team Leader will take charge of and actively participate in multiple aspects of daily operations in accordance with the company's best practice strategies. This individual is tasked with ensuring compliance with all AIMS and HESQ policies & practices (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and OSHA 1910). Additionally, they will provide direction and support to their direct reports in line with Arkema's administrative policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Management: 10%

  • Adhere to and promote safe work practices at the facility, including permitting, waste management, equipment decontamination, and PPE protocols.
  • Ensure the Maintenance team meets all required training, behavioral observations, and loss control initiatives.
  • Oversee housekeeping efforts within the Maintenance team to support plant inspections.
  • Engage with initial reporting of near-miss incidents.
  • Support site safety initiatives by conducting field audits to ensure compliance.
Operational Execution: 45%
  • Maintain alignment with activity coordinators regarding plant priorities.
  • Manage schedules and oversee timekeeping for hourly employees.
  • Utilize strategic thinking to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Assist with maintenance tasks as necessary to prevent scheduling issues and enhance reliability.
  • Manage workflows related to maintenance activities in accordance with regulations and corporate compliance.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for various tools that support the maintenance team, including SharePoint, Atlas, and SAP.
  • Reconcile SAP notifications after completing work order steps.
  • Engage in SMART initiatives for the Maintenance team.
  • Provide leadership during turnaround execution.
  • Direct additional duties as required based on resources available.
Documentation and Administration: 45%
  • Facilitate team meetings, work distribution, and administrative schedules.
  • Influence and foster adherence to policies and procedures within the team.
  • Manage the performance of hourly staff through coaching, corrective action, and evaluations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of work orders, equipment manuals, and regulatory documents to develop site-specific maintenance workflows.
  • Create and submit repair documentation to meet corporate standards.
  • Comply with record retention policies regarding preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Assist in gathering equipment operation data to support reliability improvements.
  • Oversee updates to equipment records via SharePoint.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigations.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in petrochemical or refinery settings.
  • High School Diploma; Technical Education certification is preferred.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including providing constructive feedback and fostering teamwork.
  • General proficiency in computer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
