As a Physician in our Family Medicine department, you will provide high-quality patient care services to individuals and families in our community. Under the direction of the Medical Director, you will examine patients, take medical histories, and make preliminary diagnoses. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing patient care plans, instructing and counseling patients, and recording progress. You will also work in triage, making decisions on patient care needs, and maintain outpatient records by documenting patient care services. Additionally, you will perform referrals to specialists as needed, write prescriptions for medications and equipment, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.

Responsibilities:

Examine patients, take medical histories, and make preliminary diagnoses
Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress
Work in triage, making decisions on patient care needs
Maintain outpatient records by documenting patient care services
Perform referrals to specialists as needed, write prescriptions for medications and equipment, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment
Provide general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
Perform emergency treatment and complex procedures as deemed necessary
Instruct nurses, medical assistants, and back office assistants regarding assistance with patient care
Protect patients and employees by following policies and protocols regarding infection control, medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations

Requirements:

Completion of a four-year undergraduate degree, four years of medical school earning a MD or DO degree, one year of rotating internship, and two years of residency
Board certification or board eligible in Family Practice
Completion of annual CME requirements
